  • What are the benefits of a Yoni Egg practice?
Ultimately the Yoni egg and it's associated practices are used as a tool to cultivate a strong and loving relationship with your Yoni. Some additional possible and common results of a proper Yoni egg practice may include : Strengthening and sensory awareness of the pelvic floor. Enhanced sexual and sensual pleasure. Ease of menstrual cramps and menopausal discomfort. A grounding, centered, and feminine presence. Stronger and more controlled vaginal muscles.
  • How did the Yoni Egg practice originate?
The details of the history of the jade/Yoni egg practice are mysterious and not well known at this time. However, the Yoni/jade egg practice is said to have originated in China over 2,000 years ago and was practiced by the emperor’s concubines to maintain a strong and healthy vagina. Ultimately, the practice is something one experiences and feels the benefits of on her own.
  • How does the Yoni egg practice assist with better orgasms?
Having a supple, resilient, and toned pelvic floor is one of the most important factors in being able to experience vaginal orgasms. Using a Yoni egg may also help awaken sensation inside the vagina, and stimulate the nerve endings to be more receptive to subtle contact.
  • What size Yoni egg do I need?
In my experience, the most commonly used Yoni egg size is Medium. Stage One - Medium/Large Yoni Egg: We recommend starting with a medium or large yoni egg. Medium and large Yoni eggs are the best option for strengthening the pelvic floor because of their weight and size. Stage Two- Small : We recommend working your way into a small. However, there are many women who happily continue their practice with a size medium Yoni egg. When it comes to Yoni/jade eggs, listen to your own inner-intuition and choose what feels right for you! If you have further size questions and would like to discuss options, please message us directly at info@sugarandsage.org.
  • What is the difference between drilled and undrilled Yoni eggs?
This is a personal preference and there's no right or wrong answer! The reason for the drilled hole is so a string can be attached to the Yoni egg for easy removal (think removing a tampon). Majority of women new to the Yoni egg practice are afraid the egg will get stuck, but rest assured that can not happen. With the natural weight of the egg, it will find its way out, especially when you have relaxed your muscles and give a little push. In the beginning you may prefer some assistance of the string as you get to know your Yoni egg and sacred space, but a simple push is all you really need…and maybe the assistance of your fingers.
  • May I use the Yoni egg if I'm pregnant or have an IUD?
If you're pregnant: Your OB/GYN and/or birthing coach should to be consulted and their advise considered seriously. If you have an IUD: "I personally practice with an IUD."~ Desire` ( Creator of Sugar and Sage ) IUD's are designed to withstand a lot of movement during sexual encounters and jade/Yoni eggs are a very gentle practice so the idea that an IUD might get dislodged by a Yoni egg seems highly unlikely. Intuition goes a really long way with this one, and if you still have concerns, then speak directly to your doctor.
  • Will I experience pain while using a Yoni egg?
There should be no pain when you use a Yoni egg. Ensure that when you practice with your Yoni egg you are well lubricated, and not forcing the egg inside of you. It should be a very gentle process. However, If you do feel pain stop using the egg immediately.

For basic Yoni & pelvic floor exercises, you can use your Yoni egg for 5 to 20 minutes. ( It is extremely important to NOT over work your pelvic floor. For meditating or other spiritual work, listen to your body there is no time frame on how long you should use it internally.
